Creative Services: Graphic Design
Graphics are often the most visible element of a display or gallery and as such set the visual tone for the exhibition.
This was definitely the case at a small Museum in Swaffham, Norfolk the birth place of Howard Carter – he of Tutankhamen fame. To take advantage of his fame, the museum decided to develop an Egyptian theme in one of their galleries.
Graphics were used to tell some of the history of Egypt and Carter’s experiences and also as a backdrop in recreating the Tomb of the Boy King – here a video also runs depicting Howard Carter himself creeping across wooden boards into the tomb, stunned by its riches.
As this example shows, we’ll make sure that the whole design can cross all media effectively and that the graphics reflect (or lead) the rest. We’ll obviously meet all DDA guidelines and follow any brand identity and theme (or create one); colour code so visitors can follow individual stories or characters. Leaflets and guide books should also fit the whole project design, be it new or already in place.

It’s printed on fine gauge gauze creating a ghostly image revealing the wall and windows behind – the very walls and windows seen through the graphic itself.
Spooky! Well yes, spooky but more to the point thought provoking and atmospheric.
This large format graphic re-created life at the Workhouse to great effect.Call 020 8398 9509 to discuss your project
